Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was designed by the first President of the United Arab Emirates and is his final resting place. Every detail is thoughtfully considered and beautifully constructed. I loved how the building was designed to be inclusive and connected. The mosque surfaces were designed to be reflective of each other, so you see each surface in others. There is a prayer room for 50000 worshippers, with the largest continuous loomed carpet in the world. The mosque is one of the few mosques that allows non Muslims to visit. All visitors are required to remove their shoes so as you walk barefoot in this beautiful mosque palace, you feel very relaxed, welcomed, and at home.
